This exhibition, on view at the Freedom Tower MO+AD showcases Robert Huff's work.
Robert Huff was inspired by natural landscapes and architecture. Though his work is abstract, they look like buildings that could perhaps exist in the future. I noticed he had a reoccurring grid-like form throughout his paintings and sculptures. This may represent a map. He may have done this because of his interest in architecture. Where is architecture found? In a city. How can we see a city? In a map. Perhaps all his pieces are structures located in a big map of a futuristic city.

His craftsmanship is impeccable. Everything is very well balanced and the works look finished. In his paintings made with mix media, I find a scene from a metropolis corner. This one here looks like the metro mover going through downtown via its rails. Even the negative space depicts forms that may very well be buildings.
This other one, wow. That small triangle at the left side is just enough to balance the whole composition. It's pointing towards the left indication of continuity which in terms weighs down the left side making the composition stable against the visually heavy right side.
