Reactions

This piece is in response to Miro from the Marguelis tour.

Miro was a surrealist who worked based on a theory of Psychic Automatism.
This theory is about not being aware, letting your subconscious take over.

That is what this mosaic is about. I gathered 12, 8X10 canvases (used; painted on then gessoed) and painted on them with my subconscious.
I didn't pay attention to what I was doing. While working on each individual canvas, I was focused on another activity. For example, the first canvas I used as a placemat while I ate. The 3rd canvas in the top row, I painted with my left foot; I poured paint on the bottom of my foot, and placed an ice bag on top of my foot then placed my foot on top of the canvas. As the cold ice irritated my feet, I moved it and so I painted unwillingly.

Psychic Automatism, allowing your subconscious to do the work.
